Director
The director of the Faculty of Medicine (FOM) Clinician Investigator Program (CIP) is responsible for all aspects of the CIP program and reports jointly to the Associate Deans for Post Graduate Education and Research and to the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (RCPS). (see organizational diagram) .
The director should have, or have had, an active medical research program and be familiar with the requirements of the RCPS for specialty training and with the various post graduate degree programs at UBC. He/she should have had experience in training graduate students and post doctoral fellows and should have had experience in mentoring young and emerging clinical scientists.
Program Manager
The program manager assists the CIP director in the day-to-day details of the training program, including the coordination of committee meetings, processing applications, scheduling of seminars and workshops, distribution of curricula materials, developing and updating of the Program website, tracking the career development of current and past trainees, publishing newsletters and annual reports, and managing the Program budget.
