Laguë, Sabine

Sabine Laguë (BSc (Honours), PhD, MD, FRCPC Pediatrics) is a UBC pediatric respirology fellow at BC Children’s Hospital. She completed her BSc (Honours) and PhD at UBC in comparative physiology, characterizing avian cardiovascular and respiratory function at high-altitude. Her research was supported by a Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship and a Killam Doctoral Fellowship. Sabine completed her MD and pediatrics residency (FRCPC) at UBC with research in pediatric pulmonary vascular disease, heart transplant, and the pulmonary sequelae of congenital heart disease. A former pediatric lead resident, she is also a passionate medical educator.

Sabine is a postdoctoral fellow in the Distributive Curriculum Training Pathway of the UBC Clinical Investigator Program conducting research in pediatric pulmonary hypertension. She is pursuing a clinician scientist career to advance research and multidisciplinary care for children living with pulmonary hypertension in Canada. Outside of work Sabine enjoys playing flute and piccolo with the Vancouver Pops Orchestra and Pacific Symphonic Wind Ensemble.

 

 

Yeung, Cynthia

Cynthia Yeung is pursuing an Advanced Gastrointestinal Oncology fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Queen’s University and her Medical Oncology Fellowship at the University of British Columbia in Canada. Her research explores the use of circulating tumor DNA to characterize intratumor heterogeneity and its effect on outcomes in colorectal cancer. Cynthia will also be completing a Master’s in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Texas with a specialization in Molecular and Translational Biology. She is enthusiastic about this unique fellowship opportunity to gain exposure to translational research and clinical trials.
